My Final Falling Hare Drawing

After trial and error, I finally completed Bugs as close to the original as I could. I plan to do more cartoon poses in the future. Finally, I should say McKimson's a great artist. Though his stuff is elaborate, that's what's so great about it. Feel free to critique and/or comment on this drawing.

Additional Falling Hare strategies

Although I've gotten McKimson's "Falling Hare" pose quite accurate in my last post, I felt like trying out other techniques to help get the construction accurate. For both of these drawings, I traced off the original pose and made notes on how some parts flow or where two edges coincide on a two-dimensional plain (derived from one of Amir Avni's Falling Hare posts). That way, they'll help me when I draw the pose again from pure observation.

Falling Hare Bugs Practice #3

Here's my latest attempt at Bugs that I'm quite satisfied with. It took me a while to master the construction, not to mention fixing a few of the details, but it turned out fine. Critiques/tips are welcome.

Falling Hare Bugs Practice #2b (construction)

After my previous attempts with Bugs, I decided to try a different strategy. I decided to just draw all the basic construction, and then checking it in Photoshop. I feel if the construction's just about right, then I'll probably add all the details with no problems or any wonkiness. Critiques and additional tips are welcome.

Falling Hare Bugs Practice #2

(side-by-side comparison)

My 2nd attempt at the "Falling Hare" pose. I personally felt I'm getting the direction of the ears, legs, and feet down pretty well; I still need more practice on the proportions.

Random doodle/sketch dump

Just a pile of random sketches and doodles. Nothin' super neat.

(Update)

Patrick made a cool colored/inked version of my Ren and Stimpy doodles. I'm quite flattered about it.

Falling Hare Bugs Practice

(My drawing/ the original)

(Notes)

After doing some Preston Blair lessons over at "Cartoon Fundamentals" (mostly of the eggheads) I decided to try out a full-body pose of Bugs Bunny. This great pose was originally done by Bob McKimson for Clampett's "Falling Hare." A few proportions in this first attempt didn't turn out too well, and it was hard trying to capture Bugs's subtleties. There will be more to come though. Critiques and tips are always welcome.
